Twitter is a the brainchild of Jack Dorsey. He had the bright idea of wanting to know what his friends were up to. He figured he could develop an basic social networking system that, by accepting messages from sms, web, mobile web, instant message, or from third party API projects, Twitter would make it easy for folks to stay connected.
He succeeded and the rest is exploding before your very eyes. Twitter is currently number 15 out of all the websites on the net. I just checked that with alexa.
Number 15! That’s impressive!

How can you dominate Twitter? You add followers. Sounds easy, right?
Not so fast. As with all of the huge internet conglomerates they have terms of service rules. You can’t add people too fast or Twitter will think you are up to something! Which you are! You want a huge following.

How can you use Twitter as a one of your top business tools for generating new contacts and prospects?
First you start following others on Twitter. Then hopefully they will start following you. You let them in on your trade secrets.(Whatever your special exertise is).
Why do you do that? Because you don’t want to start selling someone the minute you make contact. If you do that you will lose them.
You want to give them good content. Messages that are pertinent to their interest.
Then after you have gained their trust you give them a link back to your blog, where they can learn more about your expertise and get some free tips!
This is how it starts!
Obviously at some point you would like them to opt in to your newsletter(list).
Either way rule number 1 is give good content!
Rule number 2 is don’t sell, sell, sell or you will lose followers.
When you have given good content then you offer your followers something that solves a problem or challenge that they have.
If you have a large following you should begin to see the dollars start pouring in!
